Containment

Containment portfolio to meet all needs

When deploying a containment solution, understanding your data center’s expected evolution is critical. The difference between a traditional and a free-standing containment is that the first one has the roof and doors supported by the cabinets, and the second one has them independent from the cabinets, both available as cold and hot containments.

Selecting the correct solution for your deployment with the flexibility to adapt to meet todays and future changing requirements is vital to improving efficiency and reducing costs. With Legrand, you can rest assured that our expert team will guide you to select the right solution to meet your needs.

Rack supported containment

Rack supported containment

This is the most traditional containment solution, where the racks support the roof system and doors. When the scope of the data center is clearly defined, and no further corridor expansions are expected, this is generally the ideal solution to deploy.

Free Standing Containment

Free Standing Containment

The roof system and doors are independent of the racks and either ground (as shown) or ceiling supported. This solution is optimal for projects with various deployment phases or projects that integrate different cabinet brands or heights.

Cold Containment

Cold Containment

Also known as Horizontal Containment. In this solution the aisle receives cold air coming from a raised floor and it is contained in front of the IT equipment, cooling it down when it goes through the cabinets and expelled as hot at the rear of the cabinets. Available as traditional or free-standing containment.

Hot Containment

Hot Containment

Also known as Vertical Containment. This is a solution where the room is cooled and heat expelled by the IT equipment is contained in the aisle, then directed to a false ceiling. Available as traditional or freestanding containment.
